10 Situations When You'll Need To Learn About Audi G28

How to Replace an new audi keys G28 Engine Speed Sensor

In this video, Charles the Humble Mechanic shows how to replace the G28 engine speed sensor. This sensor is located near the edges of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear. It sends a signal to the ECU via an uncolored wire (T55/49), then to the tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

The grey wire is located on the outside of the transmission, above the flywheel ring. The sensor transmits a signal via the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU uses this information to control the amount of fuel and boost. It also sends an alert to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used as a reference for comparing with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu must be aware when the crankshaft is TDC and Audi spare keys (https://bech-rocha-2.blogbright.net) where the camshaft is so it can trigger spark and injectors according to the situation.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will display an error code P00160. This indicates that the Crank Shaft is not in alignment with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of a chain stretch or a jumpy chain link in the upper chain. The code won't show without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).

Testing is a bit challenging as there are two different connector pins and they have different functions but the most effective way to test it is to measure resistance between the sensor and the ECU. When the sensor is operational, it should be reading about 1000 ohms. Check for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you are experiencing issues with this component.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, as i was accelerating off the highway paytoll at a high speed I noticed a significant drop in power. It was like the engine had run out of gas. Or my injectors were not firing. This morning i pull out the spark plugs. Three were drenched in gazoline, the fourth one was dry. When i crank the engine, there are no sparks, I put a piece of tissue on top of each injector hole and the 3 that were drenched in gazoline pop out, but the 4th one stays closed. I tested the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I got 0ohm. So i assume the problem is in another place.

I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car will start when the G28 is disconnected, but it is running fine with the G28 connected. However the intermittent misfire issue continues to occur at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature value of -49c even when i unplug it. Also i noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.0 when I crank up the engine.

I'm not sure what to do. I believe that I've all other possibilities out. I'm afraid i may have missed something. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 gets a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is the same as the G4 and they both work in the 80 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars which is why you can easily locate one at a wrecking yard or at a parts store. It is simple to test them - simply put your DMM into resistance mode and measure the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump on the connector's edge facing up). They should be infinite Ohms.

4. ECU

Our 20vt turbo (3B AAN, ABY and ADU) engines have an ECU that needs to know the position and speed of the crankshaft in order to make decisions regarding timing of the fuel injector, for example. It makes use of a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to achieve this. If you encounter a problem with either of these sensors, the diagnostic scanner will display codes that could lead to an engine shut down.

A failing G28 sensor could cause an inaccurate speed counter for the gearbox, a gearbox that shifts faster than normal, and/or an unfire when in the gear. If you have any of these issues it is likely your sensor is deteriorating and should be replaced. They're cheap and easy to find, especially if they're an Bosch sensor like ours. Alternately, GM's version this part is a good option.

5. Tachometer

A failing engine speed sensor could be a cause for numerous problems in your vehicle. It is an important part of the transmission in your Programming audi key copy audi key programmer (spectr-sb116.ru) because it relays information to the ECU regarding how fast or slow the car's engine is turning. If the sensor fails, it can disrupt the performance of the transmission and the other car's components.

The G5 engine speed sensor is located at the edge of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear and sends a signal directly to the ECU at pin T55/49 through an uncolored wire. The ECU then processes the signal to control the flow of fuel, timig and boost, and also transmitting it to the G5 tachometer in the instrument cluster. You can test the sensor for failure by examining the continuity between it and the tachometer. You can also check continuity between ECU pin T55/49 and the instrument cluster connection on pin T6a/1 (trace [79]) as well as between T6a/1, and the instrument cluster pin T26a/12. You should observe approximately 1000 ohms of resistance between these two points. This is the same across the audi replacement key 80-100-200-RS2 model, ranging beginning with the 1985 MC and up to the 1997 UrS AN and the 1995 RS2 Du So, you may find good ones in wrecking yards.
