A big incident in the village = a getaway

It's hard to imagine in the city. I was chatting with my neighbors on the way back from a walk when I heard a loud noise from nowhere. It was a cow that had run away. Returning the runaway cow to the cowshed was also beyond my imagination. If you look closely, you can see that it is actually talking to the cow. The cow is convinced and is pulled to the cowshed. I thought that the owner knows who it is. They must be raising it with a lot of love. I admire them.

A stressful day once a month

① I can't help but feel nervous. It was my regular checkup day. I also asked my doctor about the aftereffects of corona. He said that it can take several months. He also said that there is a possibility of a second infection, so don't be complacent and be careful. I was instructed to be especially careful as it will get colder from now on.

② I checked in at 10am and finished at 1pm. I ate bread in a nearby park and took the hospital shuttle bus to Isahaya Station.

③ I also visited the Shinkansen platform, took the Shimatetsu train to Hon-Isahaya Station, and then killed time at the library.

➃ The flowers at the Kobo Jizo statue were wilting, so I bought some to take home. I also bought a "kongojo" (staff) as an offering, and offered it along with a sutra book.

① At Isahaya Station, there are race sheets for the Omura Boat Racecourse. It's been a while since I picked one up. Amazing. Yesterday's sales for one day were 637,114,000 yen. Total sales for the three days were 2,052,591,100 yen. There are 24 boat racecourses like Omura Boat Racecourse across the country. There are also bicycle racing, horse racing, pachinko, and more, so Japan is truly a gambling paradise. Behind the scenes, how many people are filing for bankruptcy and at a loss?

② Because we live in a stressful society, if there is a gambling venue, people will go there for momentary pleasure. That is human nature, and the same goes for alcohol.

③ However, if you get too involved, you will fall into the "trap" of "addiction." Once that happens, you will not be able to stop on your own without treatment. A characteristic of addiction is that people will lie without hesitation to get money. We often hear of people around us who have ruined their lives because of gambling. It is not something that happens to other people.

➃ Fortunately, I am not addicted, so I am somehow managing to make a living.
